This post argues that LeetCode-style interviews are becoming obsolete due to AI's ability to trivially solve algorithmic problems. It proposes a shift in technical interview focus from rote algorithm memorization to testing three key signals: Fundamentals (reasoning about complexity, correctness, tradeoffs), AI Fluency (directing AI tools effectively, verifying output, course-correcting), and Judgement (reasoning through tradeoffs of multiple approaches to a real problem). It highlights HackerRank's Plan/Build/Review framework and its AI interviewer, Chakra, as mechanisms to test these new skills.
