Flight Connector Workflow Simulator

1 post · May 2026

What this trail covers

Agoda developed a Workflow Simulator to test flight supplier connectors. This system models upstream callers, generates multi-step requests for specific business scenarios, preserves state across business processes, and asserts behavior across the entire workflow. It consists of a Scenario Builder, Test Runner, Workflow Executor (using a DAG to model interactions), and Assertions (endpoint and workflow-level). This allows for faster local testing and earlier detection of integration issues compared to traditional E2E testing.

  1. How Agoda Simulates Booking Flows to Test Flight IntegrationsThis post details the development of a Workflow Simulator for testing flight supplier connectors. It introduces a DAG-based Workflow Executor to model complex interactions and orchestrate calls to connectors, replacing the need for a full E2E stack for local testing. The simulator supports both endpoint and workflow-level assertions to validate connector correctness and data propagation across multiple steps.
