Introducing Bitbucket Cloud branching model support

This post introduces the 'Branching model' feature in Bitbucket Cloud, which allows users to define and enforce consistent branch naming conventions. It provides default branch type names (Bugfix, Feature, Hotfix, Release) that can be customized or disabled. The feature integrates with Jira Software for smart mapping of issue types to branch types and can be used in conjunction with Branch Permissions to enforce merge rules. The feature is available for all Bitbucket repositories and is enabled by default for new repositories.
