Dashboard Deep Linking and Scrolling

1 post · May 2020

What this trail covers

Cloudflare's Dashboard has evolved to support deep linking, allowing users to be directed to specific resources within the application. This includes dynamic resolution of account and zone IDs, and the ability to scroll to specific elements on a page. This enhances user experience by enabling direct links from marketing pages and troubleshooting documentation, and streamlines navigation by automatically scrolling to relevant settings.

  1. DeepLinks and ScrollAnchorThis post introduces the implementation of deep linking and scroll anchoring within the Cloudflare Dashboard. Deep links utilize a 'to' query parameter with a dynamic schema (e.g., `?to=/:account/:zone/ssl-tls/edge-certificates`) for resolving account and zone IDs. A `DeepLink` React component handles routing and symbol resolution via asynchronous resolvers. A `ScrollAnchor` React component enables scrolling to specific DOM elements. User interaction for resolving ambiguous links is managed through `waitForPageAction`, which leverages Redux actions and allows the router to be temporarily unblocked.
