Argo and the Cloudflare Global Private Backbone

Introduced the Cloudflare Global Private Backbone, a network of private fiber connections linking Cloudflare data centers. This backbone provides enhanced control over end-to-end performance and capacity management, resulting in significantly reduced jitter (e.g., 536μs vs. 4ms between Chicago and Newark) and improved reliability compared to transit providers. The backbone is automatically integrated with Argo Smart Routing, allowing it to select optimal paths across both the public internet and the private backbone, further improving TTFB latency by an additional 16%.
