Summary
Cloudflare Stream now supports the AV1 codec for live videos and their recordings, available in open beta. AV1 offers 46% less bandwidth than H.264. The platform uses dedicated AV1 hardware encoders for real-time encoding, enabling AV1 for live streaming and simplifying adoption for existing video libraries by encoding on-demand.
