Improving Smart Tiered Cache for Public Cloud Regions

This post introduces the 'Smart Tiered Cache for Public Cloud Regions' feature. It allows users to provide a cloud region hint for origins hosted on AWS, GCP, Azure, and Oracle Cloud. This hint helps Cloudflare select better primary and fallback upper tiers, even when origin IPs are ambiguous due to anycast or regional unicast networking. The system fetches IP range files from cloud providers, matches them against latency probing data, and uses a weighted vote to determine the primary upper tier. Geographic fallbacks are used when probe data is insufficient. The feature is configurable via the dashboard, API, and Terraform.
