Simplifying domains for people and agents

This post details the expansion of the Cloudflare Registrar API to include a sandbox environment, support for domain transfers, and integration with Cloudflare MCP and the cf CLI for agentic workflows. It also introduces a new domain search experience that provides faster, more comprehensive results across all supported extensions with improved filtering, sorting, and transparent pricing. The technical implementation of the search leverages Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, and Workers KV for scalability and efficiency, using WebSockets and a custom application protocol for real-time updates. The search progressively probes availability datasets, DNS, and live registry lookups to balance speed, freshness, and certainty.
