The Relative Cost of Bandwidth Around the World

This post provides a detailed analysis of the relative costs of bandwidth around the world, explaining the concepts of transit and peering. It breaks down these costs by region (North America, Europe, Asia), using illustrative benchmarks and data on Cloudflare's peering vs. transit traffic split. The post explains how peering agreements, especially those facilitated by non-profit exchanges in Europe, significantly reduce effective bandwidth costs compared to regions with more expensive transit and for-profit exchanges.
