Use exa-code: Fast, efficient web context for coding agents

This post introduces exa-code, a new web-scale context tool for coding agents. It works by performing a hybrid search over 1B+ webpages, extracting and reranking code examples for relevance using an ensemble method. The system prioritizes dense, relevant context (hundreds of tokens) and returns either concatenated code examples or full documentation pages. An evaluation framework is presented to benchmark exa-code against other context tools, demonstrating its effectiveness in reducing LLM hallucinations by providing recall-optimized code examples from a dedicated index sourced from GitHub and Exa's web index.
