Artifact and job meta data expiration settings are changing for GitLab.com

This post announces changes to GitLab.com's CI/CD artifact and job metadata expiration policies. New job artifacts will default to a 30-day expiration. Existing artifacts created between Oct 22, 2019, and June 22, 2020, will expire 1 year after creation. Artifacts created before Oct 22, 2019, will expire April 22, 2021. Jobs older than 12 months will be archived starting June 22, 2020, with this threshold gradually decreasing to 3 months by September 22, 2020. New build data and job metadata will also be archived after 3 months. Users can override expiration with 'expire_in' keyword. The benefits include improved performance, reliability, and reduced operational costs.
