Testing and deploying our search engine cluster

This post details the development of a fast, in-memory multi-node search engine for local unit tests, enabling engineers to catch bugs earlier. It also describes an overhaul of deployment operations, including revamped setup/teardown for faster and safer rebuilds, added unit tests for all deployment operations, verification procedures for sensitive steps like cluster switchovers, and a fast rollback operation.
