Abacus - Issuing points for multiple sources

This post details the Abacus platform's architecture and functionality for issuing points. It covers the challenges of growing product offerings and external partnerships, and outlines the use cases for points rewarding, including tiered membership multipliers. The solution describes seven main components: transaction input source, point calculation module (with detailed formulas and multipliers), Simple Queue Service (SQS) for fault tolerance and retries, Point Awarding module, Ledger, Notification service, and Point Kafka stream for downstream consumption. It also introduces the Expiry Extension module for activity-based points expiry.
