Enabling R8 optimization at scale with AI-assisted debugging

This post introduces the application of AI-assisted debugging for R8 optimization challenges in the Grab Android app. It details the development of custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools for automatic APK decompilation and stack trace deobfuscation, and their integration with GitLab CI for parallel testing of multiple proposed solutions. This approach significantly accelerates the debugging and resolution of R8-related issues by automating reverse engineering tasks and enabling rapid iteration through parallel CI builds.
