Building Harvey’s iManage Integration

This post details the technical implementation of Harvey's iManage integration, focusing on security, scaling, and networking. Key contributions include: 1) Security: Implementing OAuth 2.0, end-to-end data encryption, and one-click account disconnection, building on Harvey's existing governance framework. 2) Scaling: Developing a distributed rate limiter using Redis to manage iManage API quotas dynamically, preventing resource contention between different Harvey product surfaces (e.g., Assistant vs. Vault) and respecting iManage's rate limits. 3) Networking: Enabling secure connectivity for on-prem iManage environments, primarily through Azure Application Proxy in passthrough mode, to facilitate server-to-server calls without interactive authentication flows.
