An open approach for switching, routing, and transport

This post introduces Open Packet DWDM, a new approach combining packet and DWDM technology for metro and long-haul fiber optic transport networks. It details the Voyager transponder, the industry's first 'white box' optical packet transport solution, which separates software and hardware based on open specifications. The post highlights the use of Broadcom Tomahawk switch ASIC and Acacia Communications' DSP ASIC, and discusses the software architecture for configuration, management, and monitoring.
