Introducing the Candle Subsea Cable, Updates to Our Asia-Pacific Connectivity Projects

This post announces the introduction of the Candle submarine cable system, which will connect Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore with 570 terabits per second (Tbps) of capacity. It also provides updates on the Bifrost cable system, which now connects Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the United States, with Mexico expected in 2026, adding over 260 Tbps of redundancy. The Echo cable now delivers 260 Tbps of capacity between Guam and California, and the Apricot system is available between Japan, Taiwan, and Guam, with future extensions to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore, providing 290 Tbps of capacity. Together, these cables aim to enhance intra-Asia connectivity and transpacific bridges to the Americas, complementing other investments like 2Africa and Project Waterworth.
