This post announces the introduction of the Candle subsea cable, the largest capacity cable in APAC, connecting Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore with 570 Tbps of capacity over 8,000 kilometers. It also provides updates on other APAC subsea cables: Bifrost now connects Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the US, with Mexico expected in 2026, adding over 260 Tbps of redundancy. Echo delivers 260 Tbps between Guam and California. Apricot is available between Japan, Taiwan, and Guam, with future extensions to the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore, offering 290 Tbps. These cables, along with Project Waterworth and 2Africa, aim to enhance intra-Asia connectivity, transpacific bridges, and global reach.
