Open-sourcing DeepFocus, an AI-powered system for more realistic VR images

Introduced DeepFocus, an AI-powered framework for real-time rendering of realistic retinal blur (defocused blur) in VR. This system utilizes an end-to-end convolutional neural network with novel volume-preserving interleaving layers to reduce spatial dimensions while preserving image details, enabling compute-intensive visual effects in real-time. The work is open-sourced along with a dataset to benefit the VR research community.
