Feature Preview: Creating load tests using HTTP archive
May 20, 2016Prachi Bora (MSFT)

Summary
This post introduces a new capability within Azure Load Testing (then VSTS portal) to create load tests by importing HTTP archive (.har) files generated from browser developer tools or Fiddler. This allows users to simulate more complex user scenarios than simple URL-based tests without needing Visual Studio Enterprise. The process involves recording traffic, saving it as a .har file, and then importing it into the VSTS Load test hub. The system automatically extracts URLs, HTTP methods, headers, and parameters, and attempts to correlate dynamic information like ASP.NET view state. Data-driving and comprehensive dynamic information correlation are noted as future backlog items.
