Real-Time AI for High-Speed Data Acquisition

This feature thread tracks the evolution of enabling real-time AI processing for high-speed data acquisition systems. Initial efforts focused on overcoming traditional data acquisition bottlenecks by introducing adaptable, software-centric architectures. NVIDIA DAQIRI, as part of the NVIDIA Holoscan Platform, directly connects high-bandwidth streaming detectors and sensors to the NVIDIA software ecosystem, enabling zero-copy streaming of data to GPU memory for immediate AI processing. This allows for real-time analysis of data streams previously discarded due to bandwidth limitations, as demonstrated by the A-GHOST project at CERN. Subsequent developments focus on optimizing the DAQIRI pipeline for various hardware configurations and integrating it with advanced AI models for tasks like filtering, inference, compression, and adaptive control.
