Unlock enhanced performance and usage monitoring with Datadog and new Prometheus endpoints

This post introduces new Prometheus endpoints and an updated Datadog integration for Pinecone, significantly expanding observability. The new Prometheus endpoints allow direct access to metrics like request frequency, duration, and read/write unit consumption. The Datadog integration now provides 25 new metrics, including detailed request counts and durations by endpoint, serverless index size, and usage patterns over time. It also offers out-of-the-box dashboards and customizable alerts for proactive monitoring and anomaly detection, specifically highlighting alerts for write thresholds to prevent latency issues.
