OSS to Private Fork Synchronization

PlanetScale has developed an automated system, the Vitess cherry-pick bot, to continuously synchronize changes from the open-source Vitess project into their private fork. This bot automates the cherry-picking of OSS commits into private branches and handles backporting to specific release branches. It uses GitHub Actions and a PlanetScale database to manage state and operations, including conflict detection and resolution. Weekly integrity checks ensure the synchronization process remains reliable.
