The Efficient Server Audit Problem, Deduplicated Re-execution, and the Web

This post introduces the Efficient Server Audit Problem, which addresses the challenge of verifying that responses from an untrusted concurrent server were correctly derived from a given program and client requests. It proposes a solution based on new techniques including simultaneous replay and efficient verification of concurrent executions. The implementation for PHP web applications demonstrates speedups over simple re-execution and low server overhead.
