Introducing Serverless Pre-Rendering (SPR)
May 3, 2019

Summary
Introduced Serverless Pre-Rendering (SPR) as an industry-defining feature of the Smart CDN. SPR allows for the best of static (speed, reliability) and dynamic (versatility) by serving a static version of a page while computing a new copy in the background via a Serverless Function. Only one background invocation is made at a user-defined interval, minimizing backend traffic and cost. This is achieved with a single line of code using the `Cache-Control: s-maxage=1, stale-while-revalidate` header, enabling dynamic data rendering with static-like performance from the CDN edge.
