Introduces the Vercel Edge Runtime, a lightweight, TypeScript-based runtime compliant with WinterCG standards. It provides a subset of Node.js APIs for compatibility across web environments and is designed for framework integration, not direct application use. In production, it utilizes the V8 engine, excluding Node.js APIs. Local development polyfills Web APIs for Node.js compatibility.
