Problem Description
This system design challenge consists of two distinct but related parts:
Part 1: Full-Stack Comment System
Design a comprehensive full-stack comment system. This system should support standard Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations for comments.
Key requirements include:
- Sorting: Comments must be sortable by
timestamporuserId, in either ascending or descending order. - Persistence: The user's chosen sort preference (e.g., by
timestampdescending) must persist across page refreshes, ensuring a consistent user experience. - Architecture: The design should encompass the frontend, backend services, and database components.
Part 2: Asynchronous Image Generation Service
Design a service responsible for generating images. A critical constraint is that image generation can be a long-running process, potentially exceeding typical HTTP request timeouts.
The service must address the following:
- Request Acceptance: How will the service reliably accept new image generation requests?
- Asynchronous Processing: Detail the mechanism for processing these long-running jobs without blocking the client.
- Status and Results: How will users be informed of the job's status (e.g., pending, processing, completed) and retrieve the final generated image?
- Ordering: Ensure a well-defined and consistent ordering of generated items is presented in the user interface, even with asynchronous processing.
