Implement text formatter and sum subarray products
Problem Description
This take-home project consists of two independent algorithmic problems. You are required to implement solutions for both, explain your algorithms, and analyze their time and space complexity.
1. Text Formatter
Given an array of words and an integer maxWidth W (where W >= 1), break the words into lines such that the total length of words on each line, plus any required spaces, does not exceed W.
The formatting rules are as follows:
- For all lines except the last:
- Place exactly one space between adjacent words.
- Append all remaining padding spaces after the final word to ensure the line length is exactly
W.
- For the last line:
- It should be left-justified.
- Place single spaces between words.
- Append any remaining spaces at the end to reach
W.
- Words must not be split across lines.
Your solution should return a list of strings, where each string represents a formatted line.
2. Sum of Subarray Products
Given an integer array items of length n (indexed from 0 to n-1), compute the total sum S of products of all possible subarrays.
The sum S is defined as:
S = ∑ _{i=0}^{n-1} ∑_ {j=i}^{n-1} (∏_{k=i}^{j} items[k])
Your solution should return the calculated sum S.
