Sourcetree for Windows has undergone significant performance improvements, including optimizations to UI rendering, Git operations, and caching mechanisms. Version 2.0 introduced a holistic approach to reduce visual complexity and improve the speed of Git operations by rewriting the file diff and sidebar to use virtualized components. Caching of file lists between views was implemented to eliminate stuttering. A hybrid LibGit2 handler was added for most Git operations to improve performance, with many operations seeing almost 2x speed increases. The UI has also been redesigned with a tab-centric approach, improved contrast, and per-monitor DPI support.
