Why we built and open-sourced a model serving solution
Aug 5, 2022

Summary
Introduced Truss, a standardized open-source model packaging format that bridges the gap between model development and deployment. Truss abstracts away framework complexity (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and enables models to be served on localhost and in production with rapid development and testing loops. It turns ML models into backend APIs, simplifying the process for data scientists by reducing the need for extensive web server code and providing isolated environments for each model to prevent dependency conflicts. Truss also facilitates sharing models as artifacts, making them easier to run on any machine.
