Builder Day 2024: 18 big updates to the Workers platform

This post announces 18 updates to the Cloudflare Workers platform, many of which are now generally available or in open beta. Key technical contributions include: enabling persistent logs for Workers with a simple `wrangler.toml` configuration, integrating Hyperdrive with Cloudflare Tunnels and Access for secure connections to private databases, making improved Node.js compatibility GA with the `nodejs_compat` flag, enabling static asset hosting directly within Workers for frameworks like Astro and Next.js, and introducing Gradual Deployments for percentage-based traffic rollout. It also highlights GA status for Cloudflare Queues with higher throughput and concurrency, R2 Event Notifications integrated with Queues, and Vectorize improvements. Performance enhancements include up to 3x faster Workers KV and faster Time-to-First-Token for Workers AI. Pricing simplifications are also noted.
