Cloudflare named a leader in Forrester Edge Development Platforms Wave, Q4 2023

This post details Cloudflare's recognition as a leader in the Forrester Edge Development Platforms Wave, highlighting the capabilities of its Developer Platform, including Workers, Pages, R2, KV, Queues, Durable Objects, D1, Stream, and Images. It emphasizes how Workers make Cloudflare's network programmable, enabling developers to build distributed applications without deep expertise in distributed systems. Key features discussed include Smart Placement, Hyperdrive for database connection pooling, and Cron Triggers for compute-intensive background work. The post also highlights the expansion into AI with integrated GPUs for Workers AI, support for deploying models from Hugging Face, and the availability of the WebGPU API. It underscores the platform's ease of use, leveraging web standard APIs, TypeScript support, and compatibility with existing JavaScript ecosystem tools. The integration of AI capabilities positions Cloudflare as a competitor to public cloud hyperscalers for various workloads.
