Expanding Regional Services configuration flexibility for customers

This post announces the expansion of Cloudflare's Regional Services to include new defined regions (Austria, Brazil, Cloudflare Green Energy, Exclusive of Hong Kong and Macau, Exclusive of Russia and Belarus, France, Hong Kong, Italy, NATO, the Netherlands, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, and Taiwan). It introduces the concept of Software Defined Regionalization (SDR) as the future of data localization, enabling granular control over where traffic is inspected and processed. The post also details how Regional Services works by forwarding raw TCP streams to data centers within the selected region for Layer 7 product application, ensuring data processing occurs within specified jurisdictional boundaries.
