Introducing Automatic Platform Optimization, starting with WordPress

This post introduces Automatic Platform Optimization (APO) for WordPress, a new service that extends Cloudflare's edge caching capabilities to dynamic content. APO intelligently caches dynamic content, including HTML, by leveraging Cloudflare Workers, effectively serving entire websites from the edge network. This significantly reduces origin requests and processing time, leading to substantial improvements in Time to First Byte (TTFB), First Contentful Paint (FCP), and Speed Index. The service is integrated via a WordPress plugin and offers tiered pricing. Performance improvements were validated through internal testing and external validation by Kinsta.
