Summary
This post details the automatic protection provided by Cloudflare's Web Application Firewall (WAF) against a newly discovered security flaw in the Jetpack plugin for WordPress (CVE-2014-0173). A WAF rule was automatically deployed to all Cloudflare customers, including free tier users, to mitigate this vulnerability. While users are still advised to update Jetpack to version 2.9.3, the WAF rule provides immediate protection against potential exploitation.
