The SamKnows Cloudflare Platform

SamKnows leveraged Cloudflare Workers to deploy their internet performance measurement server software. This allowed them to gain immediate access to new measurement locations globally as Cloudflare expanded its network. The implementation involved rewriting the server-side software in JavaScript to run within the Workers environment, adhering to its resource limits (CPU time and RAM). The Workers implementation supported TCP download and upload speed tests, and round-trip latency/packet loss measurements (via ICMP, not UDP). Performance testing showed comparable or improved results compared to their existing dedicated servers in various markets.
