Workers Durable Objects Beta: A New Approach to Stateful Serverless

This post introduces Durable Objects, a new capability for Cloudflare Workers that enables stateful serverless applications with strong consistency and real-time coordination. It addresses the previous limitation of managing state and coordinating clients entirely on the edge, allowing for the development of full applications without centralized origin servers. Key features include persistent, private, and co-located storage for each object, and the ability to coordinate between clients through a single object instance. The post also announces the beta launch of Durable Objects and the integration of WebSocket support into Workers.
