The Donatinator: Simple donation solution for charities

This post details the creation of The Donatinator, an open-source donation platform. It outlines the motivation for building the platform (addressing the cost and feature limitations of existing donation platforms for small charities), the core principles guiding its development (open source, free hosting tier compatibility, minimal fees), and its initial features (one-off/recurring donations, Markdown pages, multi-user admin/reporting). It also discusses the choice of GitLab for hosting and the pragmatic use of free tiers from other providers. The author requests contributions (code, documentation, community participation), sponsorship, and users for the project.
