Introducing Grab-Kit: Distributed Service Design at Grab

This post introduces Grab-Kit, a Go microservice framework inspired by Go-Kit but with added automatic code generation. It standardizes service definitions using proto files, generates DTOs and protobuf bindings, and enforces a consistent middleware stack for logging, circuit breaker, stats, panic recovery, profiling, and caching. It also automates dashboard generation using metrics defined in YAML files and the DataDog API. The framework aims to reduce boilerplate code, improve consistency, and enhance developer productivity.
