Marionette - Enabling E2E User-scenario Simulation

This post introduces Marionette, an internal platform for simulating end-to-end user scenarios in Grab's transport domain. It addresses challenges in E2E testing for microservices by providing a unified platform for setting up test data and running simulations. Marionette allows interaction via UI, Go SDK, or RESTful APIs, enabling testing of booking flows, driver/passenger behaviors, and various cities/taxi types. It uses a 'cohort' system to isolate simulations among users. The platform aims to reduce the effort and time spent on traditional E2E testing by eliminating the need for real mobile devices and installed apps.
