Roblox has evolved its creator analytics system to handle over 2 trillion events per day, replacing a cloud queue service and single logical table with a new scalable ingestion system. This system enables direct event processing and downstream schema definition by data scientists and engineers, supporting personalization, safety, and economy algorithms. The system now supports the creation and sending of new analytic events without upfront schema requirements, with engineers defining schema at the query time using approximation algorithms like HyperLogLog and Theta Sketches for efficient OLAP queries on large datasets.
