Roblox Age-Assurance System
Roblox's age-assurance system has evolved beyond initial facial age estimation to incorporate a high-throughput ML layer that continuously evaluates an account's ongoing behavior against its estimated age. This system leverages a modular, feature-level design for efficient model updates and rapid adaptation to shifting behavioral patterns. It processes nearly two billion account-level records daily, combining various ML models (gradient-boosted decision trees, multilingual transformers, neural networks) with a schema-driven 3D generation framework (CubePart) that allows for open-vocabulary, part-controllable 3D mesh generation. CubePart outputs an assembled set of distinct, functional, and accurately-labeled meshes that match the developer's programming needs out of the box, enabling interactive behavior through scripts operating on named parts. This expands the concept of fixed schemas to empower creators to define the list of parts an object should be broken into, with the schema acting as an API contract between the asset and gameplay code.
