How DataVue Brought Phonetic Match Keys into SingleStore with Python UDFs

This post details how DataVue integrated custom phonetic match key generation logic into SingleStore using Python UDFs. Previously, this logic was maintained in two separate codebases (Python batch and SQL stored procedure), leading to drift and inefficient scaling. By using Python UDFs, DataVue achieved a single source of truth for the logic, moved heavy string processing off the main cluster to autoscaled containers, and kept processing observable and on-platform. This resulted in a ~50% reduction in monthly key-generation runtime without increasing permanent cluster size and simplified compliance by maintaining data processing visibility within the platform.
