Debian Packaging for Python Applications

Spotify has developed and open-sourced dh-virtualenv, a tool that bridges the gap between Debian packaging and Python's virtual environments. This allows for the creation of Debian packages that bundle Python dependencies within a virtualenv, simplifying deployment and development workflows. It addresses the limitations of outdated Python packages in Debian stable and the steep learning curve of traditional Debian packaging for Python developers. The tool integrates with existing Debian build infrastructure (sbuild) and allows for the definition of both system and Python dependencies, enabling easier deployment of complex Python applications like Sentry.
