What this trail covers

Temporal Cloud now allows configuring a Codec Server endpoint per Namespace, enabling different encryption/decryption algorithms for different namespaces and simplifying the user experience for viewing unencrypted data locally. This enhances data security by ensuring Temporal never has access to user encryption keys.

All Temporal trails
  1. Improvements in Temporal data encryptionIntroduced the ability to configure a Codec Server endpoint per Namespace, allowing for distinct encryption/decryption configurations for different namespaces. This enhances user experience by enabling seamless viewing of decrypted data in the Temporal UI/CLI without Temporal having access to encryption keys. The feature is opt-in and backward compatible with existing configurations, with the option to override namespace-level settings for development purposes.
