Evolving deployments in Bitbucket Pipelines: Concurrency Groups and Environments

This post introduces two new features for Bitbucket Pipelines: Concurrency Groups and Environments. Concurrency Groups replace restrictive deployment locks with a first-in-first-out queueing mechanism for steps within a group, allowing for more flexible and automated step concurrency management. Environments decouple environment variables and permissions controls from the full Deployments framework, enabling their reuse across parallel steps and without enforcing other deployment-related features. The post also details how to combine these new features with existing deployment tracking.
