Glean Agents can now work independently, build faster, and stay governed at scale

This post details significant advancements in Glean's agent orchestration platform, focusing on enabling independent agent action, improving agent building workflows, and enhancing governance. Key technical contributions include: the introduction of independent agents with unique identities and provisioned access for workflow ownership and proactive action; support for building agents in external coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and syncing via Git; version checkpoints and collaborative editing for agent development; Agent2Agent (A2A) interoperability for inter-platform agent coordination; built-in agent evaluation sets for pre-publishing testing; agent scanning for governance (reviewing instructions, tools, data sources, sharing settings) to flag risks like over-provisioned write tools; and new agent governance policies that combine access, behavior, and usage limits.
