What this trail covers

Hex has evolved its collaborative analysis platform by introducing a code review system for projects. This feature allows users to request and perform peer reviews on published projects, with options for required reviews to protect business-critical assets. The review interface provides a side-by-side diff of code and output, enabling reviewers to leave comments, request changes, or approve updates. Stakeholders with view permissions can also participate in the review cycle. The publishing flow now integrates with GitHub sync for a seamless pull request workflow.

  2. Version Control for Notebooks: Sync Hex With GitHub | HexIntroduced a human-friendly YAML file format for Hex projects, replacing the dense JSON of .ipynb files. This format preserves all aspects of a Hex project, including SQL cells, input parameters, and app layouts, while excluding serialized outputs. Enabled GitHub sync for Hex projects, allowing commits to branches and reflecting published versions on the main branch. Introduced a 'Logic diff' view within the publish workflow to show differences between the currently published version and the version about to be published, including code, configurations, and output alignment.
