Documentation Platform for Monoliths and Monorepos

Spotify has developed and open-sourced a MkDocs plugin to address the challenges of documenting large monoliths and monorepos. This plugin introduces a new '!include' syntax for incorporating subfolder mkdocs.yml configurations, allowing for a declarative approach to navigation and enabling squads to structure their documentation independently while centralizing it into a single site. It leverages GitHub Codeowners for ownership configuration and brings documentation closer to the code at a folder level, improving developer experience by allowing MkDocs to be invoked on specific documentation sections.
