GPU Server Liquid Cooling Infrastructure

Dropbox is exploring and prototyping liquid cooling solutions for GPU servers to address the increasing thermal demands of AI workloads. This initiative aims to reduce operating temperatures, improve performance, and potentially lead to power and space efficiencies within data centers, preparing the infrastructure for next-generation hardware. The team built a lab setup, tested core components, and demonstrated significant benefits: 20–30°C lower operating temperatures under stress, quieter performance, and the potential for power savings and environmental benefits.
