This feature thread tracks the evolution of using ChatOps to enhance incident response and on-call engineering. Initially, ChatOps were used for basic collaboration and command execution. This post details the expansion of ChatOps to automate common incident investigation and remediation tasks, codifying domain expert knowledge into reusable commands. This includes querying log aggregation tools (Kusto, Splunk), searching documentation and playbooks, and automating database health checks and anomaly detection. The goal is to accelerate incident diagnosis and mitigation, transforming static playbooks into living, evolving tools.
